The Job Market

As it is no surprise to anyone, our economy kind of sucks, and being a graduating senior, this seems to be a bit of a problem.
I was watching the news this morning and they did an entire segment on 2009 seniors and the problems that they are going to face going out into the work force. I thought, "Gee thanks! Like I didn't have enough of my own concerns about starting a career you go ahead and do a 5 minute segment on how terrible the job market is."
I get it. Finding a job at this time is no walk in the park. Its a good thing I'm not too worried about this fact. I, unlike a lot of seniors that I know, am choosing to not start a career right away. I figure I have the rest of my life to be working, now is the time to have fun and be young. And the downfalling economy only gives me more reason to stay away from the work force, at least for a couple of months.
I have no problem serving or being a nanny (which I currently do) until I can find something that sparks my interest. And, I'll be honest, I'm fortunate enough to have a father who owns his own business. So there is always going to be some sort of job for me.
So my solution to the economic downturn....... Avoid it.

  1. My mom wants me to go to grad school. My dad wants me to hit the market head on.

My choice to not talk about it, and continue waiting, avoiding, and not accepting it.

Yikes--it sounds much worse saying it outload.

  2. I'm only a junior and I'm getting scared about it already. Especially since Obama said it will only get worse before it gets better. Would your dad want to hire me??
